La Franchise is captivating appointment-TV that follows the all-too human stories of 12 would-be entrepreneurs who face each other in a series of tests in an effort to win the biggest prize ever awarded on Quebec TV: becoming a franchisee of restaurant chain St-Hubert Express. The 12 contenders are not necessarily businesspeople or MBA students. First and foremost, they have been chosen to take part based on their overall personality traits and positive values. But before their entrepreneurial dreams can become a reality, the contenders have to work like mad to show the jury that they have what it takes to run a successful business. They need to have the guts to go beyond what they thought they were capable of. Each week’s challenge highlights the St-Hubert brand values and requires the contenders to show that they have the skills and energy to run a top franchise. The jury that evaluates these weekly challenges is composed of the St-Hubert CEO plus two guest judges who are either well-known businesspeople or celebrities with a tie-in to the week’s challenge.
