La grande traversée

A re-enactment of an Atlantic crossing circa 1745, the documentary series _La Grande Traversée_ recounts the incredible journal of French settlers, optimistic dreamers all, destined for New France. Aboard a replica of an 18th century ship, 10 participants from Quebec set sail from the port of La Rochelle, France. Their destination: Quebec City. Their awesome transatlantic journey takes two months to complete. Dressed in period attire, fed the typical fare, and obliged to travel as their ancestors once did, these 10 adventurers share a thrilling moment in history with viewers.
