This documentary series tells the inspiring history of Montreal by drawing on the city’s defining contemporary features. This multifaceted “today”—vibrant and contradictory—provides a springboard that sends us on a voyage through time, a fascinating quest to discover the city’s DNA. The journey is led by host Jean-Philippe Wauthier, who plumbs the compelling history of our city through the individuals, places, and seminal events that created its identity. Local movers and shakers as well as experts—historians, urban planners, sociologists, and others—guide Jean-Philippe in his mission to make Montreal shine by revealing the most engaging facets of its history. The series uses visual archives, memories and computer graphic animations to showcase the history of the city just in time for its 375th birthday.
